On 12/14/17 at approximately 0230hrs the Mocksville Fire Department with automatic aid from Jerusalem VFD was dispatched to a commercial fire alarm at the House of Raeford poultry processing plant located at 251 Eaton Rd Mocksville. Shortly after dispatch Mocksville PD units advised the Davie County communications center of a working fire. E2201 arrived on scene to find a heavy volume of fire visible through the roof on the “Charlie” side of the building. The call was upgraded to a second alarm, requesting a third department and a second ladder truck, Chief 2200 arrived and assumed command of the scene, and requested additional resources and developing and incident action plan. Due to the potential release of a large amount of Anhydrous Ammonia from the site and the close proximity of a residential area. Mooresville HAZMAT Team was requested to respond and conduct air monitoring on the site and in the downwind area. Mutual aid from 10 departments were used either at the site or to back fill stations that were working on the scene. The fire was safely extinguished with no injuries to civilians or emergency personnel.

I would like thank all agencies and personnel that assisted the Mocksville Fire Department in bringing this event to a safe conclusion.
