On 1/2/2018 at around 11:30AM, an off duty Jerusalem firefighter was driving past a residence and noticed smoke and flames showing from the delta side of the structure located at 775 S Main St. The Mocksville Fire Department, Jerusalem Volunteer Fire Department, County Line Volunteer Fire Department (RIT), Davie County Fire Marshal’s Office, Davie County EMS, Davie County Rescue Squad, and Mocksville Police Department responded to the structure. All occupants were able to safely exit the structure. South Main street was shutdown during fire operations to ensure a safe scene for the first responders. Upon arrival Mocksville Engine 2201 made a hydrant connection and pulled 2 lines to attack the structure. MFD personnel along with the assisting agencies began attacking the fire from both the exterior and interior of the structure. Negative pressure was used to remove the smoke on the interior and visibility conditions improved greatly. After extinguishing the fire and checking for extension, all units began salvage and overhaul. We are happy to report that no one was injured, and any damage/loss to the property was very minimal due to the rapid response and teamwork by all of the agencies involved.

The Mocksville Fire Department would like to thank all of the assisting agencies involved.
